Friends, Adventure, Fun and Great Experience with the Food and Flashy night Life.
Incredible Team. For someone who has travelled to a new country every few years, seeing gorillas was at the top of my bucket list. When I found out that they also operate in Rwanda, It was time to check off two countries in a week's time. I arrived in Rwanda and the guide was already waiting for me to drop me at the hotel for the night. In the morning we did a city tour and even went to the genocide memorial. We then proceeded to Bwindi which is a few hours drive from the Rwanda border. I would track the gorillas in Uganda, this is because Gorilla permits in Uganda are cheaper than in Rwanda, and I wanted the most budget friendly option. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi was an experience beyond my expectations. It will be tough for me to top that experience. When we left Bwindi, we went via Queen Elizabeth National Park and saw lots of animals including the tree climbing lions we found in Ishasha. The last park we went to was on the way to Kampala and we say Zebras, buffaloes and other animals. We then continued to Jinja to see the source of the Nile and do some white water rafting on the Nile. Rafting the Nile wasn't on my initial bucket list but it was such a fun experience that I would recommend adding it to your plan. The plan to enter through Rwanda and exit through Entebbe, Uganda worked perfectly and I was able to see so much and stick to my budget. I chose to use midrange accommodation which worked out well for me.
